Members of Llantwit Major Coastguard received an early wake up call, to reports of a shipping container initially on Gileston Beach.
The call was received at 4am on Wednesday (28th) morning, despite initial searches in the area - the team were unable to find the container due to poor visibility and weather conditions, with nothing found.
Half hour after returning home, the team were re-tasked to the container that had been sighted off Aberthaw Power station.
Following an inspection, the container was found to empty and reported to the appropriate authorities for recovery.
The team were tasked for a third time today, to reports of a second container sighted near Southerndown, with Barry Coastguard team also tasked to assist, where another container was also located.
In a statement, Llantwit Major Coastguard said "While the containers do not pose an immediate risk to the public we request you please keep your distance and do not attempt to open. Both containers are empty."
"In a coastal emergency dial 999 and ask for the Coastguard."
