South Wales Fire and Rescue Service are currently in attendance at a reported fire at the National Museum Wales in Cardiff.
Residents have shared photos on social media, as smoke and flames have been seen rising from the dome.
A South Wales Fire service spokesperson said “Multiple crews are currently in attendance and the incident remains ongoing at this time.”
At approximately 12:06pm on Thursday 8th April 2021 we received reports of a fire at the National Museum Wales, in Cathays, Cardiff.
A spokesperson for the National Museum Said “We can confirm that there was a small fire in the dome at National Museum Cardiff on Thursday lunchtime. No staff were hurt and no collections were damaged. The fire has been successfully extinguished and the fire service are now investigating the source of the fire”
