A fundraiser has been set up to support the work of the volunteers who maintain Ty Hafan's garden area, including the charity's Memorial Garden, a place of huge importance to Ty Hafan families.
The hospice gardens provide a space for the families, friends, staff and carers to relax, unwind and make memories, providing a calm and tranquil environment to reflect, as well as a much-needed memorial to loved ones.
In a statement on the recently-established GoFundMe page, the organisers of the fund have said:
"The Ty Hafan Garden volunteers give their time and energy for the love of maintaining the gardens. This is your chance to show them how much you appreciate their hard work and commitment.
"They need bulbs, shrubs, plants, compost (peat free) tools and storage for the equipment to maintain and develop the gardens to ensure the special place continues to provide comfort and solace for the Ty Hafan families.
"The suggested donation is £10 but every little helps, so feel free to give less or more."
In addition, one of the hospice nurses said of the gardens:
"The garden now looks so much better, there are new flowers and plants that have been planted (looking beautiful this spring and summer) and weeds have been cleared from the new raised flower beds. I have seen two gardeners while I was out with one of the children but they were busy hauling a wheelbarrow. Can you please extend my thanks to their hard work. It’s very much appreciated. They are all amazing!"
