Heroin with a street value of approximately £150,000 has been seized by police

 

Officers stopped a black Peugeot 208 at Culverhouse Cross and found 1.5kg of the class-A drug in a sports bag on the back seat.

Darren Hanashi, 49, from #Butetown, has been charged with possession with intent to supply heroin and was remanded in custody to appear at Cardiff Magistrates' Court.

This seizure, on Wednesday evening at around 7.30pm, is an example of how our officers are tackling suspected drug dealing in your community.

Since #OpCrater launched 18 months ago to tackle drug supply in the area, the team has arrested more than 250 suspected drug dealers.

As a result of these arrests, officers have seized:

  • More than £750k worth of drugs – predominantly heroin and crack cocaine.
  • In excess of £250k cash.
