A joint operation by South Wales Police, British Transport Police and Transport for Wales aimed at targeting people involved in supplying drugs on the Grangetown to Barry line has led to three arrests.
The exercise which took place on the 25th October saw Transport Police join South Wales Police on Transport for Wales services as part of Operation Flush.
The operation follows an increase in events on the Grangetown line to Barry and information received about people relating to drug supply in the area, the line officers targeted for the week to find and disrupt any criminals.
The Op, LED by HTP, included visibility patrols and plain clothes, shared information with South Wales Police, Transport Revenues Protection Inspectors for Wales dealing with ticket issues, and support from the Youth Offending Service to engage and talk to young people.
The operation led to 4 knifes being recovered, 3 arrests, 6 people found in possession of cannabis and 9 stop searches.
