Llantwit Major Coastguard responded to an incident at Ogmore-By-Sea today, assisting a man who had collapsed at Hardies Bay.
The Coastguard took to their social media pages to share the news of the call-out with locals. In their post, Llantwit Major Coastguard said:
"Team paged to a medical evacuation for a collapsed gentleman at Hardies Bay, Ogmore by Sea.
"Following assessment by the team the casualty was assisted to his car and taken to hospital by a family member as it was safe and appropriate to do so."
In their post, the team also reminded locals that the Welsh Ambulance is currently under strain and they should stay home and exercise locally wherever possible. The crew's post explained:
"The Welsh Ambulance Service is currently under severe strain. Please stay home, exercise locally and stay safe.
"If the worst happens at the coast, we’ll always be there – ready and waiting to respond. Just dial 999 and ask for the Coastguard."
Wales is currently at Alert Level 4 for the Coronavirus meaning residents should stay at home wherever possible and only mix with their household or support bubble.
