The Llantwit Major Milers have collectively taken on a 452 running challenge, to raise money for mental health charity Mind.
The challenge was developed as part of the work by Llantwit Major Town Twinning society, to resurrect a link between the Town and Le Pouliguen in France.
Efforts to progress visits to each other's towns have had to be put on hold due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but the challenge aims to keep the work of the Twinning Society in the forefront of the community.
The Llantwit Major Milers is a friendly, free & fun running club in the Town who over the bank holiday weekend attempted to virtually run from Llantwit Major to Le Pouliguen, a distance of 452 miles.
But with over 80 individuals have taken part over the course of the weekend, running through Llantwit Major, St Athan, Wick, Cowbridge and surrounding areas - the group decided to go one step further.
After completing the 452 mile trip, the team turned the challenge into a 904 mile round trip, hoping to complete by the end of Bank Holiday Monday.
In a statement, a spokesperson said "In keeping with the local community theme, two of our club runners painted over 30 logo’d Llantwit Major Milers stones for the occasion which have been hidden throughout the town for everyone to find."
"It would be very much appreciated if you would donate to ‘Mind in the Vale of Glamorgan"
"We would like to thank ‘Hitchings Electrical’ for the very generous gesture of donating £1 for every selfie taken next to the Le Pouliguen street sign in Llantwit, even a couple of superheroes got involved!"
