Local Resident Gets Special Thanks From Council For Cleaning Up Play Equipment

The Vale of Glamorgan Council took to social media to thank Rhoose resident, John Davies for his work in cleaning up the play equipment at the end of Smeaton Close.

The helpful Vale man, John, spent his time during lockdown giving the equipment a much needed spruce up, painting and cleaning the apparatus for Rhoose residents to use in the future

In their Facebook post, the Council said:

"We would like to say a huge thank you to a local resident, John Davies, for tidying up the play equipment at the end of Smeaton Close in Rhoose.

"John spent some time during lockdown painting the climbing frame and monkey bars, cleaning the surface and re-painting the bench in the park for other local residents to enjoy when lockdown ends.

"We think this is an excellent example of community spirit during a global pandemic and think John deserves some recognition for his work.

"He’s certainly a #RainbowHero to us 🌈"

Mr Davies' work has certainly restored some life into the equipment and the response from the public to the Council's post has been overwhelmingly positive, garnering over 550 likes at time of writing, with one user saying: "Well done it looks fab. True community spirit."
