An new directory, bringing together the Vale's independent businesses, high streets and shopping areas has been launched to seize on the support for shopping local in communities following the pandemic.
Lovethevale.wales is an expansion of Bro Radio's Business Directory, which launched in August 2020 to promote independent businesses as they recovered from the coronavirus pandemic. The site allows users to search for local businesses, shopping areas and products via a unique platform, developed by the team at Bro Radio.
Over 100 local businesses are all featured, some of whom registered via the stations former business directory or have joined the site prior to its official launch.
The project has already received support from local traders groups, shop local organisers and business owners, with 100 businesses already featured. They include businesses who registered via the stations former business directory or have joined the site prior to its official launch.
Bro Radio's Operations Director Nathan Spackman said "If the previous year and a bit has taught us anything, it’s the value of community cohesion. The pandemic brought community to the fore, with local people going out of their way to support others in need, and a real focus on local business developing, with many looking beyond the bright lights and vast fascias of the supermarket for the first time in a long time, and trying out the small, local businesses in their area."
"The Love the Vale Business Directory aims to seize on this support and help local businesses thrive, by pulling all of the needs of the Vale consumer together in one website, so should a Vale resident need either a butcher, baker or candlestick maker, they can simply enter their search and choose their preferred option."
