Supermarket chain, Morrisons, are now offering next-day “doorstep delivery” for those who are self-isolating in the community.
The service, open from 10am – 6pm each day, aims to make sure no-one gets left behind or has to worry about putting food on the table while self-isolating.
Previously only open to vulnerable and elderly members of the community, the emergency delivery service has now been rolled out for anybody who may be unable to leave the house, as Coronavirus cases across the nation continue to rise exponentially.
Customers simply have to ring the doorstep delivery service where they can choose the items for their emergency delivery.
To make an order for delivery:
Anna Lane, Morrisons Local Director, said:
“This doorstep service will ensure that more people who can’t leave their home to go shopping will be able to get a delivery of affordable food.”
Morrisons will be delivering from more stores in order to extend the service across the country.”
Morrisons, Barry, Community Champion, Pam Bowen, told Bro Radio:
“Many of these people are avoiding going out or going to a supermarket.
They might find it hard to get an online delivery because demand for
these is increasing. We want to make sure that nobody gets left behind
and everybody has access to food.”
