The Penarth Coastguard Rescue Team are recruiting volunteer Coastguard Rescue Officers to join them in the vital work they do, rescuing those who get into danger on our coast.
The team is made up of individuals from all backgrounds who are trained in Water Rescue, Mud Rescue, Emergency Casualty Care, Lost & Missing Persons Search, Pyrotechnics & Ordnance Response, 4x4 driving & a number of other specialist skills, and are managed by a team of full-time officers/instructors.
In a post on social media, the Penarth Coastguard Rescue Team listed the criteria necessary for those who may wish to apply for the position:
You must also complete a full medical exam and be available to attend the initial New Entry Training.
No prior experience is necessary for the position, with the team saying successful applicants will be trained "To Search, To Rescue, To Save"
