A grant towards Soroptimists Barry and District Easter Chicks Project has helped raise £2,000 for Velindre Cancer Centre.
The grant of £230 was presented to the group by Penarth Town Council in December 2020, allowing volunteers from the group to knit Easter chicks and fill them with chocolate eggs in order to raise funds.
The grant helped towards the costs of purchasing eggs, packaging and labels for the projects.
Now, Penarth Town Council has shared its delight to hear that £2,000 has been raised for Velindre Cancer centre off the back of the project.
