Porthcawl RNLI footage shows dangers of Storm Ciara

Footage captured by Porthcawl RNLI this evening has shown the dangers of visiting exposed Coastal areas during storms.

The footage released this evening (9th February) which was recorded by Porthcawl RNLI's webcam shows waves hitting the seawall in the Coastal Town.

It comes after the RNLI yesterday urgred people to stay safe near the coast, ahead of the arrival of Storm Ciara.

It said "We are encouraging people to exercise extreme caution if visiting the shoreline, especially along exposed cliffs, seafronts and piers."

If you see someone else in danger in the water, call 999 and ask for the Coastguard. If you have something that floats that they can hold on to, throw it to them. Don’t go in the water yourself – too many people drown trying to save others.
