Rhoose Community Spirit, the group behind the Villages annual Christmas lights has launched a fund to give back to the community that has supported them over the last few years.
Rhoose Community Spirit is a voluntary group which organises events and activities throughout the year, aimed at bringing local people together through community events that foster a sense of pride in the village.
In a post on social media, the group said "The last 18 months have been difficult for a lot of people, but in particular local community groups have suffered by not being able to fundraise, hold events etc."
"I truly believe these local groups are a lifeline for many people and although many have adapted to online services, their financial situations may have been heavily dampened by the last year and a half."
The Community Chest Funding scheme is for local registered charities and community groups to help them get back on their feet through funding or purchasing of equipment.
The funding is open until 1st September 2021, with each request dealt with on a case by case basis.
Those wishing to apply can do so via Community Chest Funding Application
