South Wales Police for Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan are appealing for information on the theft of construction machinery worth £20,000 from an address in Lavernock.
The excavator was stolen from the address in Lavernock, the area between Penarth and Sully, at between 4pm and 4.30pm on Tuesday, April 13. In their statement on social media, South Wales Polices stated that it is believed a silver Nissan Pathfinder, an SUV, was used to remove the digger from the address.
Arrests were made on the day of the theft, after a stop-check on the M4, but have since been released under investigation. The excavator has yet to be found.
In their statement on social media, South Wales Police asked that anyone with any information on the incident get in touch with them, saying:
“Anyone who has any information which could assist the investigation is asked to contact police, quoting reference 2100128088.
“In particular, officers would like to hear from anyone who believes they’ve been offered the machinery for sale, or who has dashcam footage which has captured a silver Nissan Pathfinder between 4pm and 7pm on April 13.”
