Officers from South Wales Police for Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan have received High Sheriff Awards for their exceptional service through their roles with South Wales Police throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
The High Sheriff Awards give High Sheriffs an opportunity to highlight individuals in their county, often those who have gone without other recognition but have made an outstanding contribution in some way. This year’s awards celebrate those who played a significant part in assisting their community during the pandemic.
High Sheriff Andrew Rhys Howell honoured the following South Wales Police officers based in Cardiff & The Vale.
CI Williams said of the High Sheriff Awards:
“Despite the current climate, our officers remain on the front line, responding to spontaneous incidents, serving communities and doing their very best to keep everyone safe.
“We are very proud of Pc Powell, Pc Williamson, and Police Sergeant Johnson who, like the majority of our staff, have risen to the challenges arising from COVID-19.”
The news has been met with a positive response from members of the community with one saying “Well done and congratulations to you all.”
