  RNLI Penarth

Eight people have been rescued from Sully Island after they were cut off by the tide.

The RNLI crew at Penarth sent out its D-class lifeboat at just before 4pm on Sunday afternoon (5th September)

On arrival, they found two adults with small children, along with two other couples.

All eight people were taken back to shore and given safety advice.

A spokesperson for the RNLI at Penarth said: ''Please make sure to check tide times when you're out enjoying the coast, to avoid getting caught out by the tide.''
