Two men and a teenage girl have been charged with the murder of a Cardiff Bay man.
Dr Gary Jenkins died in hospital 16 days after he was assaulted in Bute Park. The 54 year-old worked for the Cardiff and Vale health board.
Three people were previously charged with attempted murder. But following Dr Jenkins' death last week, South Wales detectives began treating the case as a murder inquiry.
Jason Edwards (25), from Riverside, Lee Strickland (36), of no fixed abode, and a 16 year-old girl who can't be named for legal reasons, did not enter any pleas, when they appeared at Newport Crown Court on Wednesday.
Both Edwards and Strickland appeared in person, while the girl appeared via video link.
A provisional trial date was set for Monday 17th January 2022 - the case is expected to last around four weeks.
All three were remanded until a plea hearing on Friday 15th October - the two men are being held in custody, while the teenager is in secure accommodation.
