Three people have been hospitalised after an accident on Port Road West on Monday morning.
The incident, which occurred at approximately 9:15am on the A4050 between Weycock Cross Roundabout and Cardiff Airport.
A spokesperson for the Welsh Ambulance Service said “We were called at 9.17am this morning to reports of a multi-vehicle road traffic collision on Port Road, Rhoose, Barry.”
“We attended scene with one rapid response vehicle, three emergency ambulances, the Wales Air Ambulance and our Emergency Medical Transfer and Retrieval Service. Three patients were taken by road to University Hospital Wales, Cardiff.”
A spokeswoman for South Wales Police said: “Emergency services are currently in attendance at a road traffic collision on Port Road, Rhoose.”
“A number of casualties have been taken to hospital and road closures are in place.”
“Motorists are advised to avoid the area and are thanked for their patience and understanding while this incident is on-going.”
At 3pm on Monday, traffic in the area remains slow with drivers still advised by the Vale of Glamorgan Council have been advised to avoid the area.
