The Boomerang Furniture Store (BFS), an affordable furniture store that puts profits back into the community, is holding an open day on the evening of Thursday 17th June with discounts available on products and four other local start-up businesses based in the shop in attendance.
BFS in Barry is a subsidiary of Boomerang Cardiff which began its journey as a homeless/poverty organisation, helping citizens that live on the streets who still deserve a little dignity, however, the journey developed moving in different directions but still keeping its identity with regards to tackling poverty. The store in Barry sells affordable furniture with profits going back into the community.
Also at the event will be four local start-up businesses with pop-ups at the premises, Make it Homely, Tobias art and Vintage Threads, Earthy Girl and Scentsational Cottage.
Make it Homely is a family-run business selling a range of upcycled furniture, handmade gifts and homeware. The business hopes to be attending craft fairs and markets throughout 2021. Tobias Art and Vintage Threads sell original abstract artwork and a huge range of vintage clothing, Inc retro sportswear. Earthy Girl creates home and seasonal decor and gifts from the things discovered in nature and Scentsational Cottage sell a wide range of artisan candles and soaps, Bath bombs wax melts and more.
The event will be held at the store on Broad Street between 5-8pm and all are welcome. There will also be a chance to win a £100 BFS voucher. You can find out more on the event's Facebook page, here.
