Vale Pubs Compete for MP’s Pub of the Year Competition

Fifteen pubs from across the Vale of Glamorgan have put themselves forward for Alun Cairns' Parliamentary Pub of the Year competition.

The participants will be competing in an online public vote, which will run until Friday 23rd October 2020.

Mr Cairns said, “It’s always a fun competition to hold, however, this time around there is a significant difference due to the incredible challenge that the hospitality sector has faced since the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic. That’s why I’ve decided to use this competition to help to promote local pubs and highlight them at their time of need. I want to draw attention to their best features and offers that they have available, which you can see in the video clips on my Facebook page.”

He added, “This is the time to support our local pubs. They have worked so hard to ensure that they have adapted to the Covid rules to keep us safe, including the installation of screens, use of the track and trace app, wide availability of hand sanitiser and table service. Pubs are the hubs of our communities and we need to make sure that they can get through this crisis and remain a key part of our communities going forward.”

  1. I would vote but there's no way I'm giving my personal details for cairns to send me rubbish or giving my details to third party contacts of his

  2. This feels like the first time we've hears anything from Alun. I don't feel as though he has supported his constituency at all. All I ever hear from him is negativity towards Wales, no encouragement and bizarre voting decisions. I've never felt less represented in my life.
