Gethin Jones and the crew from BBC One’s new “Morning Live” visited Penarth’s Ysgol Y Deri yesterday to film a piece for the show.
Ysgol Y Deri, the special education school which recently starred in BBC series “A Special School”, hosted Gethin and the team from the new show to film a piece about communication and autism.
Morning Live is a new, daily topical series, hosted by Gethin Jones and Kym Marsh. The programme, which launched this autumn, will be a lively and entertaining mix of topical content and expert advice and will air after BBC Breakfast at 9:15am on BBC One.
Gethin Jones said of the new show:
“A presenting role on a morning show like this is a bit of a dream for me. What I’m most excited about is the opportunity to delve in to some of the biggest issues at the heart of our everyday lives right now. My parents have been shielding and my sister works in a hospital so, as is the case for lots of people, this year has been such a worry. For me, this show couldn’t come at a better time. I’m looking forward to working alongside Kym to bring viewers across the UK a much needed boost and of course the important information they need.”
The news that Ysgol Y Deri will feature on the BBC One programme was received well by many of the school’s followers on their social media post, with Kate, a parent who took part in the filming, commenting about Gethin Jones, “He was so lovely and very passionate about autism.”
