Vale residents will be able to put out twice as many black bin bags after Christmas.
The county council has set out special recycling arrangements to manage the extra waste created over the festive season.
From Monday 30th December, households can put out up to six bags of non-recyclable black bag waste - with the normal three-bag limit resuming after Friday 17th January.
From next Monday 23rd, certain collections will be two days later than usual, while some will be pushed back by a day the following week.
Christmas trees will be collected from designated points from Monday 13th to Friday 25th January.
Cllr Mark Wilson, cabinet member for neighbourhood services, said: "We know that Christmas is a time when a lot of extra waste is created, some of which cannot be recycled."
"That is why, as in previous years, we have doubled the amount of black bag waste residents can put out for a two-and-a-half-week period from late December."
"There are also arrangements in place to help people dispose of Christmas trees, advice online about how to recycle particular items and on what material is to be placed in black bags."
Vale Council advises that leftovers - such as vegetable peelings and turkey carcasses - can go in the food waste bin, while Christmas cards and cardboard without glitter can be recycled.
Most wrapping paper also needs to be put out as black bag waste, unless it can be scrunched into a tight ball - in which case, it should be placed in the white recycling bag.
But waste teams won't be able to collect any fairy lights, sticky tape, bows, tinsel, decorations and polystyrene.
Likewise, only real trees will be accepted for collection - and any tree longer than six foot will have to be cut into smaller pieces and no decorations or soil should be deposited.
Trees can also be taken to one of Vale Council's household waste recycling centres at any time, without an appointment - if they are the only item being disposed of.
Subscribers to the council's garden waste service can arrange for a collection, but the tree will need to be cut down if it is above six foot.
