Work is set to start on a £180,000 revamp of a Rhoose playground by the end of the month.
A new play area will be built at Celtic Way Park as part of an ongoing programme to improve children's outdoor play areas across the Vale.
There'll also be improvements to the site's biodiversity after Vale Council secured Section 106 funding for the project.
Construction work is expected to take five weeks to complete.
The new playground will have a nature theme and include swings and slides, a roundabout, a seesaw and sensory activities to help make it inclusive.
Plans for Celtic Way were drawn up following a consultation with local residents and community groups at a drop in event and through an online survey.
Councillor Mark Wilson, cabinet member for neighbourhood and services, said: "Thank you to everyone who has helped shape this project so far through the consultation stages."
"I'm looking forward to seeing the designs come to life, and the upgraded facility open to the community. I hope that the new play area and will be enjoyed by children for years to come!"
Earlier this year, a local community group - Replant Rhoose - worked alongisde the Vale Local Nature Partnership to plant new bulbs, wildflowers and trees in the park.
