Llantwit Major finished the JD Cymru South season in ninth after a 1-0 defeat to Cwmbran Celtic on the last day of the season.
For Major, it was the end of an era as Jack Lansdown called time on his goalkeeping career after more than 425 apperances for the club.
The Llantwit veteran will be honoured by having a stand at the Windmill Lane ground named in his honour - with the club also naming him as the first member of their new hall of fame.
Lansdown's swansong saw him take the captain's armband for the second week running.
But arguably, this game mattered more for the hosts, who needed to better the result of Penrhiwceiber Rangers' game at Carmarthen in order to avoid relegation.
And sure enough, Celtic went in front after 12 minutes from an Ollie Berry corner which was met by a powerful header from Mario Van Dieren, beating the venerable Lansdown.
But the away keeper did have one last moment in the sun when he saved Andrew Larcombe's penalty to deny the hosts from doubling their lead.
Celtic went onto hold out with the odd goal - and with Penrhiwceiber playing out a 5-5 draw at Carmarthen, it was enough to see them fight another season in the Cymru South.
So, another season ends with Llantwit settling for a mid-table finish after 11 wins, ten draws and nine defeats from their 30 games, along with another memorable experience in Europe via the Fenix Trophy.
