Llantwit Major will face Belgian club Berchem Sport in the first round of this season's Fenix Trophy.
The Cymru South club are taking part the European competition for semi-pro and amateur teams for the second season running.
Their opponents, based on the outskirts of the Flemish city of Antwerp, play in Division Two - the fourth tier of the Belgian football pyramid - but they also have a storied past.
Founded in 1906, Berchem Sport spent a total of 41 seasons playing in the Belgian top flight, finishing as runners-up on three successive seasons from 1948 - 1951.
They have also won several titles in the lower leagues - most recently, they were crowned Division Four champions in the 2011-12 season.
Their ground is named after hometown midfielder Ludo Coeck, who played for Inter Milan and Anderlecht and won 46 caps for Belgium, until his career was tragically cut short by a fatal car crash in 1985.
The date of the opening round has yet to be determined - but the winners will go onto face either Danish club BK Skjold of Copenhagen or German side Athletic Sonnenberg
Last season saw Llantwit face Skjold in their first ever Fenix Trophy game, winning 1-0 at home in February before a narrow 3-2 defeat in Copenhagen in April.
Meanwhile, Ben Stait's side are looking towards kicking off the new Cymru South campaign, which kicks off on Saturday when newly promoted Trethomas Bluebirds visit the newly christened 'Megadome' on Windmill Lane.
Goals from Matty Kimmins and the returning Nathan Renfree set up a home clash with Cymru Premier side Cardiff Met on the first weekend of August.
