Barry Town United have signed midfielder Robbie Willmott ahead of their opening game of the new season.
The former Newport County mainstay is the sixth new arrival at Jenner Park this summer as Steve Jenkins' men prepare to face Llanelli in the Nathaniel MG Cup on Friday night.
The 34 year-old spent most of last season on loan at Weston-super-Mare and became a free agent following his departure from Woking in June.
Willmott spent nine years with the Exiles, appearing in 292 games over two spells and playing a big role in their famous FA Cup run in 2018-19, when they faced the likes of Leicester City, Middlesborough and Manchester City.
A youth product at Cambridge United, he made his senior debut at the age of 17 in 2007, going onto make 139 apperances over two spells, including a Conference play-off final at Wembley.
He joined Luton Town for £50,000 in January 2011, scoring 14 goals from 67 apperances with the Hatters.
After being let go from Newport by then-manager Terry Butcher in 2015, Willmott returned to non-league football with Ebbsfleet United, Eastleigh and Chelmsford City, before returning to Rodney Parade two years later.
In recent years, he also spent loan spells with both Exeter City and Walsall.
Willlmott's signing remains subject to international clearance ahead of Barry's first competitive game of the new season, off the back of five straight friendly wins over the likes of Newport County and the under 21s at Swansea City and Cardiff City.
Ahead of their latest arrival, manager Steve Jenkins - who has returned to the dugout - told Bro Radio that he expected to sign at least three more players before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.
Barry - along with the other Cymru Premier clubs - were all given a bye into the second round of the league cup, along with their opponents Llanelli, who were pipped to the Cymru South title by Briton Ferry Llansawel last season.
Kick off at Jenner Park is at 7.45pm with full match commentary available from 'Talk of the Town' on the Bro Radio website.
