Bro Radio is set to expand its monthly programmes, with new shows focusing on local music, food & drink, business, young people and a return for Barry Island Discs.
The local radio station has already built a successful series of monthly programmes, including its third sector radio show with Glamorgan Voluntary Services, Welsh Show and Culture Show, along with regular take-overs from journalism students at the University of South Wales.
On the first Monday of each month, Bro Radio has teamed up with local food blogger Wayne Eats to delve into the kitchens of restaurants, takeaways and producers as part of its Food & Drink Programme.
Bro Radio's new business show broadcast on the second Monday of each month will focus on news and issues, whilst speaking to business owners about their successes and what they have achieved during their journey.
Following the success of Bro Radio's local artist of the week feature, Molly Mcbreen will present an hour of local music, interviews and gig guides on the third Monday of each month.
On the fourth Monday of each month, the Vale Youth Forum as it looks to improve communication between young people and the local community, encouraging active participation of young people in life in the Vale of Glamorgan.
Barry Island Discs will also return to Bro Radio, with host Samantha Campbell sitting down with local people, businesses and politicians to discuss their life and the music that made then on the 4th Tuesday of each month.
Local food blogger Wayne Kamans, known as Wayne Eats said "I'm excited to be working with Bro Radio to showcase the best food and drink the Vale has to offer. The programme will feature the best hot spots, meeting local businesses and of course tasting the absolute best food and produce made here in the County."
Host of Barry Island Discs Samantha Campbell said "Local people, businesses, organisations and events have always been a passion of mine so when the opportunity came up to host Barry Island Discs, I jumped at the chance. I will be talking to local people who have stories to tell and that you want to hear."
The new monthly programmes will sit alongside Bro Radio's multi-award winning Vale this week news programme and uplifting Thursday night programme, On the Up with Matthew Basset.
