Opportunity: Newsreaders & Content Creators

The multi-award winning Bro Radio is continuing to expand its local news and digital content in 2021, with new volunteering opportunities available to those looking to build their experience and portfolios.

Local news and information is at the heart of everything we do, with the station being recognised at the 2020 Community Radio Awards, picking up Station of the Year and multiple nominations and awards for its journalism programming, including its flagship Vale this Week.

By volunteering with Bro Radio, you'll build vital experience and your portfolio on a professional radio station, be given the opportunity to craft your skills, learn more about the wider radio station and be part of an exciting and growing brand in the Vale of Glamorgan.

Previous volunteers have used the experience, portfolio and contacts built up at Bro Radio to gain roles at the BBC, PR companies and newspapers across the United Kingdom.

Roles include:

Newsreaders - Working with our digital reporters, you'll research, write and produce news bulletins to air on Bro Radio. Whether its one bulletin a week or an afternoon shift, we'll work around you to build your confidence, skills and experience.
