Barry Town Utd Celebrate Their End Of Year Awards

Barry Town United celebrated the 2019/20 season over the weekend with their end of season awards.

The club handed out awards to some of the stand out players and some of the best moments of the season.

Winners included Evan Press, who came out on top in the "Champagne Moment" category, supported by Edgar's gift, for his winning goal against rivals, TNS.

Two of the biggest awards of the night, "Manager's Player of the Season" and "Supporters Player of the Season" both went to Luke Cummings, signed last season from Carmarthen Town, it's safe to say the Right Back has impressed in his debut season at Jenner Park. The "Player's Player" award went to Midfielder, Clayton Green.

Other winners included the recently departed, Jon Hood in the "Goal of the Season" category and Kayne McClaggon who was Barry's top scorer of the 19/20 campaign with 13 goals in all.

The online celebrations were capped off on Sunday with the announcement that Manager, Gavin Chesterfield, has signed a new two year deal with the club.

Chesterfield said of the new contract:

“I want to thank the board for their continued support and belief. I’m genuinely honoured to sign a new deal. Going into my 14th season we have grown immeasurably together. The future looks exciting both on and off the field and I’m proud to be a part of it."
