Cymru South honours for unbeaten Llantwit Major

Llantwit Major have won the JD Cymru South's awards for player and manager of the month.

Karl Lewis was named manager of the month, after guiding the Windmill Lane club through an unbeaten August.

Major are just a point off leaders Pontypridd Town, after winning six of their first seven league games.

Connor Goldsworthy was named the Cymru South's player of the month, having scored three goals so far this season.

Llantwit resume their league campaign at home to Risca United on Saturday. The two sides met in the Welsh Cup last month, with Major running out 2-1 winners.

Barry Town United

Meanwhile, Clayton Green has been named the Cymru Premier's player of the month for August.

The Barry Town United midfielder has been in fine form so far, scoring four league goals in two games - including a winning penalty against Haverfordwest County.

Green took the captain's armband for Barry's last league game, and again in last weekend's Welsh Cup win over Goytre.

The Cymru Premier campaign resumes on Saturday when they host reigning champions Connah's Quay.

The game will see Gavin Chesterfield break the club's all-time managerial record of 490 games in charge.
