JD Cymru Premier
Barry Town United 1-0 Cefn Druids
Barry: Kayne McLaggon 16' pen

Picking up from where he left off after the mini-break, Barry captain Kayne McLaggon notched up his 13th goal in all competition all season, as Barry stretched their unbeaten league run to five games.

The decisive moment in an otherwise uninspiring affair at Jenner Park came when Aron Davies was tripped up in the area, allowing McLaggon to step up and slot home the winning spot kick past keeper Michael Jones.

Barry had started strongly, but appeared too content to settle back after the winning goal. Arguably, the Druids - bottom of the table - offered more threat for the rest of the first half.

Jordan Cotterill offered up Barry's best effort at a second goal, linking up with Marcus Day after weaving his way through the visiting defence, but the resulting effort was blasted over the bar.

Barry remain eighth in the table, but the gap with the top half is down to just one point after reigning champions Connah's Quay were held by Penybont.

Manager Gavin Chesterfield now turns his attention to next Saturday's big derby at Cardiff Met - with a place in the Nathaniel MG Cup final at stake.
