Notes (Not to be read on air):

This sheet will be updated with local pieces, stories and information to promote throughout the coming weeks.

How to listen:

Can presenters please stop listing all the ways people can listen on air at the start of or during their show. The listener is already listening to the station, so telling them all the ways they can listen, doesn't make sense. Instead, give them a reason to keep on listening to you!

Promoting new frequencies, a different way to listen is ideal. I.e "Did you know you can also get Bro Radio on your smart speaker?"

Examples:

"You can also listen to Bro Radio on our app, with the latest local news, information and weather for the Vale of Glamorgan too - its free to download on the ios or android app store."

"Don't forget - you can also ask your smart home speaker to play your local radio station? Ask your device to play Bro Radio or enable the Bro Radio skill in your amazon Alexa device."

"Did you know you can now hear Bro Radio in Llantwit Major? You'll find us on 100.2fm, meaning Bro Radio is available on FM from Sully to St Donats."

Local News Intros: To be used into local news bulletins

Local news will continue to air at half past during the week (7am - 7pm) and weekends 7am - 3pm. Each week the below schedule will be updated with the names of newsreaders, to be spoken into.

I.e "It's coming up to half 7, let's get the latest local news for the Vale of Glamorgan with Demi Haywood.

Talking Points:

Use these to fill those links when you are unsure what to talk about, instead of a that was/this is. Similarly, use these links to talk about shows to come later in the day and what features on them.

Bro Radio is getting even bigger:

You may have heard the news on Vale Breakfast with Gareth and Nathan on Monday that Bro Radio is getting even bigger in the months to come.

After expanding into Llantwit Major back in May, the station will in the future be expanding to the East, to improve its coverage in Penarth, Sully, Dinas Powys and Llandough launching on 106.1fm - bringing Bro Radio from Llandough to Llandow on 98.1 - 106.1fm

To do this though - we need your support. So if you're a local business or organisation who might be able to help us raise the money to get on air then get intouch via the website at broradio.fm

Supporting interdependent businesses in the Vale:

As lockdown restrictions ease and things return to normal, as your local radio station we want to help support local businesses on High Streets across the County to get back on their feet after a difficult couple of months.

So here at Bro Radio we are launching our business directory - where independent businesses in the Vale of Glamorgan can submit their information in August to be listed on the Bro Radio website - which is viewed by over half a million users every year.

Plus, by submitting your business to our directory in August - you'll be entered into the draw to win £2,000 in spot advertising here on your local radio station.

You can find out all the details, register your business and see the full terms and conditions via the website at broradio.fm
