Buzz Parks Smash Fundraising Target

BUZZ Parks in Cardiff and Swansea have raised over £5300 at their second annual charity fundraising day in memory of their late colleague who passed away from an incredibly rare form of cancer in 2021.

On Saturday 13 May, the trampoline parks in Llanishen and Llansamlet, joined together for the second time to raise funds for, and awareness of, Cancer52 and ThymicUK. These charities work tirelessly to support those suffering with lesser-known forms of cancer and their families.

Lucien Seller had an exceptionally rare cancer known as thymic mucinous adenocarcinoma and passed away aged 25 in May 2021. Lucien worked in Buzz Parks' Head Office, supporting the work of both parks, which is what inspired colleagues and friends from across the business to raise money and awareness in his memory.

50% of the day's takings from both parks, and the full proceeds from two raffle draws, will be split equally between the charities. A total of £5340.45 was raised on the day – which exceeded last year's total. This is something of which the whole team is very proud, especially in the current economic climate.

Amy Foster from BUZZ Parks said: “Not only did we manage to beat last year's figure, but it also means we will have donated over £10,000 to charity in Lucien's name from just two events. I am incredibly proud and thankful to both the teams in the Cardiff and Swansea parks, who made so much effort to make this year's event such a success and, of course, we are incredibly grateful for the generosity of our amazing customers.”

Jane Lyons, CEO at Cancer52 added: “We are truly grateful for the money raised, which will make a huge impact in the work that we do in raising awareness of rare and less common cancers.”

BUZZ Parks intends to continue celebrating Lucien's Legacy annually, so that the important work of the charities can continue and less individuals will feel the same sense of loss and grief felt by Lucien's passing.
