A fire has torn through an industrial unit at Atlantic Trading Estate on Barry Docks overnight.
Firefighters were called to the scene, after reports of a fire at 11:26pm on Tuesday 17th October and remain on the scene on Wednesday afternoon.
A spokesperson for South Wales Fire and Rescue Service said "Firefighters remain in attendance at Atlantic Trading Estate in #Barry after reports of an industrial unit on fire received at 11:26pm last night. The industrial building measuring 60m by 25m, was well alight on arrival of our service."
"Several appliances and specialist equipment are at the incident near the waste and recycling centre, which is currently still open. Some other industrial units are affected and there may be some delays to travel in the area."
Vale of Glamorgan Council had announced the closure of the Household Waste Recycling Centre early on Wednesday, with all bookings cancelled. The Atlantic Trading Estate site has since re-opened to the public.
