Vale Of Glamorgan Eats, a new food delivery app, has officially launched in the county, with the aim of offering residents all the convenience of the traditional food delivery app, but with a local flavour.
The app is now live, with a plethora of local takeaway establishments populating its pages. Its layout and ordering process is designed to be much the same as Vale residents will be familiar with, but Vale of Glamorgan Eats has the local community at its heart and has pledged to donate 50% of its net profits for 2022 to local registered charities. The company is currently finalising details on which charities will receive donations but has stated that they aim to spread the funds across various areas of need.
This local feel goes further, with a commitment to offering takeaways lower commission rates than the nationwide delivery services, with the hope that some of these savings are passed onto the customer. In terms of numbers, Vale of Glamorgan Eats is charging a 7.5 percent commission on every order while delivery giant, Just Eat, charge 14 percent commission plus a 50p service charge.
The app went live on the 9th March, with customers able to begin ordering on the 13th. To entice residents of the Vale to give it a go, many restaurants are currently offering a 20% discount on orders through the app.
